After graduating in Professional Photography at Abertay University, I moved from wee Scotland to multicultural Paris and a full ocean opened before my eyes.
As an imagery maker, I mainly work with old Polaroids and expired films, but I don’t dislike the digital world and the many possibilities it gives.
I mainly work in studio. I use strobes and natural light, depending on the mood the image requires from me in order to be born.
I’m not a compulsive shooter, I only shoot when I’m ready and when the image is appearing before me.
I’m not a camera geek, I think nowadays cameras have far too many bits and bolts and they just complicate your life. Cameras should just have three things: shutter speed, aperture and press button. My work is a constant recherche on identity, soul and beauty. People who come to my atelier and sit in front of my cameras are told to be as they are, to let their inner self go, to let the events take their course. Even though I studied in Scotland and now I live in Paris, I’m Italian. All my early life and education have been soaked with Mediterranean culture; I was raised with the classical culture and myths of the ancient Greece and Rome, bathed with the eternal sunshine of the southern coasts and the warm but unpredictable waters that, once upon a time, accompanied Ulysses through his journey of discovery. And as a novel Ulysses I journey towards new journeys of discovery of the human.

NB: I’m interested in what is real, crude, raw, depraved, unadulterated, direct, politically incorrect, human.
