Since the death of his wife, Luigi has decided to live his life as a homeless, he's not poor, he owns a house and he is retired with a good pension, as he used to work for the Italian state own television. But since his wife is gone, he just stopped living a 'normal' life, he started wandering around the town, dragging his cart full of junk and talking to whoever crosses his path, sunbathing in the gardens and talking about his life like a full stream river. I've been knowing him for almost 20 years but only lately I started to seriously photograph him and to talk to him, discovering a whole universe in his head, understanding his problems and troubles. The topic of the mental illness and its different facets is just a small part of my documentary, after spending months with Luigi and after knowing him so well I found out the human aspect of the man, his wishes, his fears, his inner strength and above all the tragic loss that triggered the crazy sparks in his brain.
